BOILER START AND USE
After professionally installing the room ventilation system, the fume exhaust system, the hydraulic system and electrical system according
to the relevant regulations, the specialised Technical Service Center can do the optional Commissioning Service.
To use the boiler, fill the tank with pellets of the recommended quality, set the desired temperature and power (we recommend setting
level 3) in MENU 00 and turn the boiler on with Button 1. The boiler will run until the room probe, thermostat or accumulation tank probe
temperature values are reached, according to the set configuration. When the set temperatures are reached, the boiler switches to
ECONOMY mode until a new request is sent by the probes.
When running in ECONOMY mode, the water circulation pump is off and only turns back on to dissipate heat when boiler water reaches
80°C, turning back off at 75°C. For this reason, any system zone valves must be adequately controlled to permit water circulation with
room temperature. For this purpose, the Jolly Mec ZONE MODULE (available separately) resolves the problem of alarms due to boiler
water overheating when zone valves are closed.
By enabling the Mode STAND-BY in MENU 05, you can give an input for switching off the boiler once all probes values remain fulfilled
for longer than the time set in MENU 05 (DELAY OFF). The appliance is not actually powered off, but is waiting for being turned to a new
request from the probes.
The STAND-BY function as per System Schemes 5-7 as for summer/winter modes, and as per System Scheme 6 as for summer mode is
activated automatically, even if the screen might display the OFF setting within MENU 05. When the buffer tank and/or boiler has reached
the set value, the boiler will switch off and then on again when the temperature detected on the buffer (Lo low level) or boiler probe will
be 10 ° C lower than the set value. The differential value can be modified by the specialised Technical Service Center.
By setting the MENU 02 - SET TIMER, you can lay out hourly operation ranges to schedule switching on and off time slots. The fast
activation of the timer thermostat can easily be carried out by simultaneously pressing keys 3 and 4 when the display is in the main
screen. It is not allowed to activate simultaneously the TIMER and STAND-BY functions. The TIMER function is intended as time-band
operating, while the STAND-BY function is based on temperature sensing.
Message ORDINARY SERVICE is periodically displayed to remind the user to clean the boiler. Press Button
5
in the main screen to
cancel the message.
In the event of alarms and/or manual pellet load from MENU 07, message CLEAN BRAZIER is a warning to be sure not to turn on the

The boiler also has ANTIFREEZE AND ANTI-JAM functions. The first turns on when boiler water temperature is 5°C, starting the water
circulator until temperature increases 2°C. If a THERMOSTAT MODULE is used, this function turns on when room temperature reaches
the anti-freeze temperature set in the module so that the boiler runs a start cycle and runs until room temperatures increases 2°C. The
ANTI-JAM function starts the water circulator after 24 hours of disuse for 30”. In addition to the water circulator, if the boiler is installed in
configurations 6 or 7, the hot water boiler 3-way diverter valve is also started. If the ZONE MODULE is installed, all actuators connected
to outputs are run for 30”.
The boiler is only turned off after the burner is emptied, thus a variable amount of time elapses between the shutdown command
and actual shutdown as combustion continues until no fuel is left in the burner. The shutdown phase takes about 20 minutes and the
mechanical cleaner and circulator are activated in this interval to clean the exchanger and dissipate heat.
We recommend activating STAND-BY mode when permitted by factory and/or use conditions. Frequent starts
and stops may cause appliance malfunctions, possible no start alarms and waste energy and fuel.
