6.3.4 Slide blocks installation
1- Install the new slide blocks with their shims as
installed previously ensuring the information
recorded during removal is respected (§ 6.3.3)
and tighten the screws (use loctite).
2- Using gauges, check the play between the mast
sections is within 0,2 mm and 0,3 mm. If it is
not, change the shims (see drawing below).
Ensure an equal thickness of shims is
placed on either side of the mast section
as indicated above. Thickness 1 must be
similar to thickness 2.
3- Install the equalizer brackets on the mast using
"Loctite 243" on the bolt thread.
4- Remove the plastic blocks installed during the
removal of the slide blocks (see § 6.3.3. fig.
6.3).
5- Install new nuts on the chain equalizers to
adjust the tension of the lifting chains (see §
4.2).
6- Grease the mast's sliding surfaces (refer to the
Operator's Manual).
Torque value 7,5 N

! CAUTION
Removal procedure
1- Remove the mast assembly from the chassis
(see § 6.2)
2- Position the mast sections as represented
below.
3- Unscrew completely the nuts securing both
equalizers to the mast sections (see § 6.3.5.,
fig. 6.4).
4- Remove both equalizer brackets from the mast
sections (see § 6.3.5., fig. 6.4).
5- Position the mast sections are represented on
fig. 6.3.
6- Place plastic blocks (3 mm thickness) between
the mast sections on which the slide blocks
must be replaced (see fig. 6.3).
7- Remove the 4 pulleys supporting the electrical
cables (located at the top of the mast sections).
NOTE
Before removing the slide blocks, note their
marking and location and give this
information to your JLG distributor when
ordering.
8- Remove the slide blocks and their shims.
