3.12 Hydraulic system
NOTE
Exercise extreme care around a pressurized
hydraulic system. Do not work on a hydraulic
system while it is in operation and until all
pressure is released.
Contaminants in a hydraulic system affect operation
and will result in serious damage to the system
components. Dirt in hydraulic system is the major
cause of component failures.
When removing components of a hydraulic system,
cover all openings of the component.
If evidence of foreign particles is found, flush the
system. Disassemble and assemble hydraulic
components on a clean surface.
Clean all metal parts in a non-flammable cleaning fluid.
Then lubricate all components to aid in assembly.
3.13 Lubricants
Lubricants or grease types recommended in this
paragraph are only valid in "normal" storage and
operating conditions.
Brand and grade indications are given for information
only, JLG Product Support can communicate
equivalences in the leading makes and answer your
particular problems.
The multi purpose grease applied during
manufacture is of lithium base. Use of a non-
compatible grease could result in damage
to equipment.

3.14 Gasket
Be sure the holes in the gaskets correspond with the
lubricant passages in the mating parts. If it is
necessary to make gaskets, select material of the
proper type and thickness. Be sure to cut holes in
the right places. A blank gasket can cause serious
damage.
When removed, always install the cylinder head and
manifold gasket using recommended gasket
compound on head gaskets to allow uniform sealing.
3.15 Electrical wires and cables
Battery should always be disconnected and the
charger plug disconnected from the electrical power
source prior to working on the electrical system.
When removing or disconnecting a group of wires or
cables, tag each one to ensure that they are
connected properly during assembly.
! CAUTION
