3.6 Bushing installation
Bushings must be inserted in their housing with an
appropriate driver with a smooth flat end (preferably
in soft steel).
The outside diameter of the bushing must be slightly
oiled to facilitate assembly.
Bushing, driver and housing must be correctly aligned
during assembly.

3.7 Bearings
As soon as a bearing is removed, cover it to keep dirt
and abrasive particles out. Clean the bearings in a
non-flammable solution and allow them to dry.
Bearings can be dried with compressed air
but do
not spin the bearing.
Discard the bearings if the races and balls or rollers
are pitted, scored or burned. If the bearing is
serviceable, coat it with oil and wrap it in clean waxed
paper. Do not unwrap new bearings until time of
installation.
The life of a bearing will be shortened if not properly
lubricated. Dirt in antifriction bearing can cause the
bearing to lock resulting in the shaft turning with the
cage.
3.8 Locks
Lockwashers, flat metal locks or cotter pins are used
to lock nuts and bolts.
Always use new locking devices on components which
have moving parts.
3.9 Loctite®
Loctite® type adhesives contain potentially
dangerous chemicals if incorrectly used.
Read and follow the instructions on the
packaging.
Always follow the instructions on Loctite® packaging.
Every type of Loctite® is not suited for every
applications.
