Pay particular attention for signs of cracking
around the diaphragm insert. Obtain a new
diaphragm if necessary.

Examine the piston

. Small scratches can be carefully
removed with fine emery cloth. Deep grooves or
signs of pick-up (especially on the lower sealing
portion of the piston) will require the replacement
of the component.
