What is the Difference Between Zoom and Crop?
The Zoom tool was designed to help you examine portions of your photo in greater
detail. The amount you have zoomed in on your photo is displayed in the upper right
corner of your screen, and depends on the original resolution of your photo. Lower
resolution photos may show a slightly limited final zoom percentage—somewhere around
1000-1200 percent.
The Crop tool allows you to reframe your photo. You can crop your photo and save your
photo (Zoom cannot be saved). You can cut vertical images out of horizontal photos or
vice-versa. Crop also helps you eliminate peripheral information and can dramatically
change or enhance the subject of your photo.
NOTE:
The Crop tool will always maintain a certain aspect ratio. You can change the
scale, but not the shape of the crop box.
Why are Some of Items on the Toolbar Grayed Out?
The tools that are grayed out are unavailable to use in your current situation. You simply
do not need all of the tools in every situation. You would never, for example, need to
undo changes if you have not yet made any.
Why Don’t the Photos I Add to an Album Automatically Appear in the
Slideshow I Created from that Album?
When you create a slideshow from an album, you are referencing photos from an album
as it currently exists. Photos added at a later date will not be recognized until they are
added with the
Add/Remove Photos
tool on the Slideshow room toolbar.
What Causes Photos to Disappear from My Slideshow?
If a photo is deleted from the Zip
®
disk it will disappear from any slideshows that use
that image. Since slideshows reference images from albums the photo disappears from
the slideshow when an album is deleted and the photos are removed from the Zip
®
disk.
Always make sure that a photo is not used by a slideshow when you are deleting an
album.
Why Do the Album Names I Create with the Album Info Tool Always
Revert to the Original?
When you have finished entering a name with the on-screen keyboard, you need to
accept the name by pressing the
C
button. You will be returned to the Album Info dialog
box. You can now make other changes to album settings. Pressing the
GO
button saves
