• Make sure your JPEG images always end with the extension .JPG. Your FotoShow ™
Image Center will not recognizes valid JPEGs with a missing or wrong extension.
NOTE:
JPEG is the most common file format used by digital cameras. The FotoShow
™
Image Center is compatible with most JPEG formats; however, some less common JPEG
formats such as CMYK JPEG, progressive JPEG, motion JPEG, and JPEG 2000/JBIG are
incompatible. If you would like to view non-JPEG images (such as BMP, PICT, GIF, PNG,
EPS, or TIFF) on your FotoShow Image Center, you will need to use a computer to
convert them to a compatible JPEG format.
Using FotoShow
™
Media
Use only genuine 250MB or 100MB* Zip ® disks with your FotoShow ™ Digital Image Center.
This section describes some of the things you can do with Zip disks.
NOTE! 250MB Zip ® disks work only in Zip 250 drives.
Backing Up with Zip
®
Disks
It’s important to always keep current backups of your digital photos. You can use your
FotoShow
™ Image center to copy the content of your SmartMedia ™ , CompactFlash ™ , and
Microdrive ™ memory (see
“Copying Files to the FotoShow™ Image Center”
on page 15). It
is also important to backup the albums and slideshows you have created with your
FotoShow Image Center.
In order to backup the files contained on your Zip ® disk you will need a computer. The
simplest way to copy your Zip ® disks is with the Iomega CopyDisk tool (for PCs only).
Mac
®
OS Users:
Follow the instructions on the purple side of the QuickStart Guide to
connect your FotoShow ™ Image Center to your computer. See the help files installed with
IomegaWare ™ software on your Mac hard disk for instructions on copying your Iomega
disks.
Windows
®
PC Users:
1.Follow the instructions on the purple side of the QuickStart Guide to connect your
FotoShow ™ Image Center to your computer.
2.Insert the disk you want to copy into your Zip ® drive.
3.Right mouse click on the Zip ® drive icon in My Computer or Windows Explorer .
4.Select CopyDisk (indicated by the stylized Iomega
®
“i” logo) from the drive shortcut
menu.
5.Follow the onscreen instructions in the CopyDisk tool. If you need additional
information, click the
help
button.
