Troubleshooting
Why Don’t I Get a Picture on My TV After I connect the FotoShow
™
Image Center?
There are several things that could cause your TV not to properly display images from
your FotoShow
™
Digital Image Center.
1.Check all of the cables between your FotoShow
™
Image Center and your TV. Make
sure that the colored connectors match on both the TV and FotoShow Image Center.
2.Make sure that the FotoShow
™
Image Center is properly plugged in to a wall outlet
or powerstrip.
3.Press the
POWER
button on the FotoShow
™
remote control until the power light
comes on. Make sure that the batteries are properly installed in the remote control
and that you are following the usage guidelines on page 22.
4.Make sure that the TV and any other devices that may be connected in between
the FotoShow
™
Image Center and TV are powered on (these include VCRs, AV
Receivers, etc.).
5.Make sure your television (and VCR if connected through the VCR) is set to the correct
video input. Many TVs will label the connectors with the video input they are associated
with. Most TV remote control’s have a button labeled TV/VIDEO, TV/VCR, or INPUT. This
button switches between video inputs. If you are unsure about the type of video input
your TV uses, check the manual that came with your TV. Your FotoShow Image Center
has sound as well as video. If you can hear sound but can’t see any video, double
check the connection of the yellow RCA connector, S-Video connector or RF connector
(depending on your connection type). If the problem persists, visit our website at
http://www.iomega.com/support
. If you are using an RF modulator try setting your TV to
channel 3 or 4. Some RF modulators let you specify the video input channel.
Why Doesn’t the FotoShow Zip
®
Disk I Created on
My Macintosh
®
Work?
When attached to a TV, The FotoShow
™
Digital Image Center can only read PC-formatted
Zip
®
disks. To format a disk on your Macintosh
®
for use with your FotoShow Image
Center, see the formatting instructions on page 50 of this manual.
Why Doesn’t My Write-Protected Zip
®
Disk Work on My FotoShow
™
Image Center
Your FotoShow
™
Digital Image Center creates several files, such as the miniatures used in
the Photo Grid, on your disk that help it to correctly display your photos. The FotoShow
Image Center cannot create these files if the disk is Read/Write protected. To use your Zip
®
disk with the FotoShow Image Center, see the instructions for removing read/write
protection on page 51.
