3 Type one of the following types of characters:
• To accent a lowercase character, press the character. For example,

• To accent an uppercase character, press the

key. Next, press the
character you want to accent. For example, press

, and then press

to type the Ä character.
• To type the accent mark by itself, press the
:
key.
The accented character or diacritical mark appears on the screen and the
Modifier Key status light turns off.
If you try to accent a character and the resulting character is not supported
on the terminal, the plain (unaccented) character appears on the terminal
screen. For a complete list of the international characters available in the
terminal font, see Appendix C, “International Character Support,” in the
2400 Family system manual.
Using the TE 2000 Keypads
The 2475 supports a TE 2000 application for IBM 3270, IBM 5250, or
VT100/220/320/340 and ANSI. When you order a TE 2000 application,
you also receive the appropriate TE 2000 keypad overlay. TE 2000 keypad
overlays let you enter the same keys that you can enter from a VT/ANSI
keyboard, an IBM 5250 keyboard, or an IBM 3270 keyboard.
Like the alphanumeric keypad overlays, the TE 2000 keypad overlay lets
you enter all the characters printed on or above the keys. For help, see
“Typing the Characters Printed on the Keypad” on page 12. The TE 2000
keypad overlays also come with the same special keys that are on the
alphanumeric keypad overlays. For help, see “Finding the Special Keys” on
page 12.

Using the Function Key Labels
Your terminal ships with strips of five function key labels. You can use the
labels to identify custom function keys. Write the name for each function
key on a strip of five labels and insert the strip into the slot on the keypad.
You can also create your own pre-printed function key labels. For the exact
function key label measurements, see “Label Specifications” on page 79.
