6 Trakker Antares 2475 Vehicle-Mount Terminal User’s Manual
Using the Terminal for the First Time
Before you can use the 2475, you need to perform certain steps, such as
setting the time and date. You can find this information throughout this
user’s manual and the 2400 Family system manual. However, if you want
to start using the terminal immediately, see the
Trakker Antares 2475
Vehicle-Mount Terminal Quick Start Guide (P/N 072384).
To use the 2475 for the first time
1 Unpack the terminal and documentation. For a list of shipping box
contents, see “Unpacking the Terminal” on page 7.

Install the terminal. For help, see the Trakker Antares 2475 Vehicle-
Mount Terminal Installation Instructions (P/N 072512).
3 Charge the backup battery. For help, see “Learning About the Power
Supplies and Backup Battery” on page 9.

to turn on the terminal. For help, see “Using the
Suspend/Resume Key” on page 13.
5 (Optional) Set the time and date. For help using the TRAKKER
Antares 2400 Menu System, see “Configuring the Terminal With the
Menu System” on page 27.

(Optional) Configure the serial port parameters. For more information,
see “Using Serial Communications on the Terminal” on page 42.
7 Configure the RF parameters. For help, see “Using RF
Communications on the Terminal” on page 45.
8 (2475 with 802.1x security only) Configure the 802.1x security
parameters. For help, see “Configuring the 802.1x Security Parameters”
on page 49.
9 Enable the bar code symbologies that you want to be able to scan. For
more information, see Chapter 6, “Configuration Command
Reference,” in the 2400 Family system manual.

Exit the menu system and save your configuration changes to flash
memory. For help, see “Exiting the Menu System” on page 33.
When you are done with these steps, the default application or TE 2000
application that is loaded on your terminal will start. You are ready to use
the terminal.
