Vacuum--stopper insertion station (12)

In addition to the conventional stopper insertion system, the machine is equipped

with a vacuum stopper insertion system.

The vacuum stopper insertion system consists of:

5 Insertion rods (format dependent)

1 Evacuation station stopper insertion

1 Vacuum tank stopper insertion

1 Vacuum piping system with sterile filters and shut--off valves

1 Aeration system with sterile filters and shut--off valves

In order to largely avoid a reaction of the fill product with the ambient atmosphere

and to avoid atmospheric inclusions in the syringe, the air is evacuated from the

syringes by a vacuum insertion rod holder (AC) before the stopper insertion pro-

cess starts.

For that purpose the vacuum insertion rod holder moves over the syringes, seals

them and generates a vacuum. Thus, the air is evacuated from the syringes.

After a presettable time has elapsed, an insertion rod pushes the stopper into the

syringes.

Through the vacuum the stopper is drawn down to the fill product. This reduces air

inclusions to a minimum.
