Note:
Using some Setup menus causes the printer to query the network for
zones, network servers, and other information. If the printer is not
attached to a working network, the printer will use default information
that will probably not be correct for your environment. Always wait until
after you have attached the printer to your network cable to configure
the printer. If you have a Novell network, also wait until you have
configured the NetWare server before configuring the printer.
The following sections guide you through printer configuration.
Choosing Setup Options
As you configure the printer, use this section to learn the implications of each
choice for your network environment and client operating systems.
Choosing Printer Setup Options
Use the information in this section to choose options in the PRINTER SETUP
menu. To get to the Printer Setup menu, use the information in “Accessing
and Reviewing the Setup Menus” from page 6–3 to page 6–3.
In the Printer Setup menu, set the default job options that the printer will use.
For most of these options, the end user can also set the option when he or
she sends the job. If the end user chooses “Printer’s Default” when sending

NOVELL SETUP
