Accessing and Reviewing the Setup Menus
This section describes how to gain access to the Setup menus on the printer.
Accessing the Setup Menus when the Printer is On
The procedure below describes how to enter the printer Setup menus when
the printer is
on (the power light is lit) and online. If the printer is already
offline, skip to step 4.
To enter the printer setup menus when the printer is on and online:
1. Go to the operator panel on the front of the printer.
2. Wait until the display panel in the middle of the operator panel reads
READY.
3. Press the Online push button. The display panel displays OFFLINE or
OFFLINE PENDING.
Note:
If a utility is running and communicating with the printer when you
take it offline, the printer will not go offline until the utility is
stopped. The printer will remain in OFFLINE PENDING state.
4. Press the Menu push button. You see SELECT FUNCTION on the first
line of the display panel and RUN SETUP on the second line of the
display panel.
5. Press the Enter push button. RUN SETUP moves to the first line of the
display panel, and PRINTER SETUP is displayed on the second line.
Note:
If a password has been assigned for the Run Setup menus,
ENTER PASSWORD will display on the second line of the panel
when RUN SETUP appears on the first line. If this occurs, see
“Entering a Password” on page 6–4 for instructions.
6. Use the Menu Scrolling push buttons to scroll through the menus until you
see the one you want. When you see the menu you want, press the Enter
push button to select it.
Accessing the Setup Menus when the Printer is Off
This procedure describes the steps for entering the printer Setup menus
when the printer is powered
off (the power light is not lit). Follow these steps:
1. Go to the operator panel on the front of the printer.
2. Press and release the white power button on the lower right-hand corner
of the front of the printer. The printer power-on sequence begins.
3. Watch the display panel for the message PRESS MENU FOR SETUP to
be displayed; then press the Menu push button.
You see SELECT FUNCTION on the first line of the display panel and
RUN SETUP on the second line of the display panel.
