Light path diagnostics
You can use the light path diagnostics built into your server to quickly identify the type
of system error that occurred. Your server is designed so that LEDs remain illumi-
nated when the server shuts down, as long as the power supplies are operating prop-
erly. This feature helps you to isolate the problem if an error causes the server to shut
down.

A system error
was detected.
Check to see
which of the LEDs
on the diagnostics
panel inside the
server are on.
None The system error log is 75% or more
full or a PFA alert was logged. Check the system error log and
correct any problems. Disconnecting
the server from all power sources for
at least 20 seconds will turn off the
system error LED.
On SMI A systems management event
occurred. Restart the server.
If the problem persists, have the
system serviced.
