Rack Mounting the Expansion Unit
Notes:
1. At the discretion of the installer, a second person may help install the Expansion Unit in the
equipment rack.
2. You must support the Expansion Unit while you are tightening the screws to avoid dropping it on the
floor or on other equipment beneath it in the rack. The Expansion Unit weighs approximately 12.8 kg
(28.2 lb).
3. It is recommended that you use a screw starter when installing the Expansion Unit in the rack.
Follow these steps to mount the Expansion Unit in a rack:

Look at the rack inventory chart provided by your network administrator to determine where in
the rack the Expansion Unit should be mounted.

Insert the lower left-hand screw into the Expansion Unit, and then lift the Expansion Unit into
position, lining up the screw and the mounting hole in the rack.
Partially tighten the screw.

Align the hole in the cable management bracket with the holes on the right-hand mounting
bracket and the rack. Using one screw, secure the cable management bracket and the lower
right-hand side of the unit in the rack. This is shown in Figure 30 on page 62.
