Creating a PVC for Virtual Channel Connections
Before defining PVCs in the workgroup switch, see the guidelines in “Configuring Permanent Virtual
Circuits (PVCs)” on page 41.
The following examples show how to set up two PVCs for virtual channel connections (‘best effort’ and
reserved bandwidth) from the same port (1.2) in the workgroup switch to the same port (4.4) in the
remote switch (hub number 2 in the cluster).

Checking PVCs: It is recommended to check the configuration of PVCs after they are created, using
the command
SHOW PVC ALL VERBOSE . If a PVC fails, determine the Q2931 Cause Code using this
command and check its meaning in Appendix C, “Error and Information Codes” on page 207.
