Installing the CD or DVD backplane

To install the CD or DVD backplane, complete the following steps.

Power cable connector

CD or DVD drive

cable connector

CD or DVD drive connector

CD or DVD drive backplane

1. Install the CD or DVD backplane in the server and secure it with the two

mounting screws.

2. Connect the signal cable and the power cable to the CD or DVD backplane.

3. Install the CD or DVD drive (see “Installing the CD or DVD drive” on page 38), if

one was removed.

4. Install the cover (see “Installing the cover” on page 31).

5. Slide the server into the rack.

6. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.

7. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
