7. Connect the power cord to the power-cord connector on the power supply.
8. Connect the other end of the power cord to a properly grounded electrical
outlet.
9. Make sure that the ac power LED and the dc power LED on the rear of the
power supply (see “Rear view” on page 6) are lit, indicating that the power
supply is operating correctly.
Removing and replacing Tier 2 CRUs
You may install a Tier 2 CRU yourself or request IBM to install it, at no additional
charge, under the type of warranty service that is designated for your server.
The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your hardware.
Removing the operator information panel
To remove the operator information panel, complete the following steps.

1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 29.
2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and
external cables; then, remove the server from the rack.
3. Remove the server cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 31).
4. Disconnect the signal cable and the USB cable from the operator information
panel.
5. Remove the two mounting screws; then, remove the operator information panel
from the server.
6. If you are instructed to return the operator information panel, follow all
packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are
supplied to you.
