Installing an air baffle
To install an air baffle, complete the following steps.

1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 29.
2. Put the baffle into place from the top of the server, and align the holes near the
front of the baffle with the pins in the server. Make sure that the pins on the rear
of the baffle are seated in the system board.
Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace the air baffle before you
turn on the server. Operating the server with the air baffle removed might
damage server components.
3. Install the cover (see “Installing the cover” on page 31).
4. Slide the server all the way into the rack until it latches.
5. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
6. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
Removing a riser-card assembly
To remove an HTX or PCI Express riser-card assembly, complete the following
steps.
