b. Slide the cover forward slightly.
c. Tighten the captive screw on the back of the cover.

3. Slide the server all the way into the rack until it latches.
4. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
5. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
Removing an air baffle
To remove an air baffle, complete the following steps.

1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 29.
2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and
external cables; then, remove the server from the rack.
3. Remove the server cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 31).
4. Lift the baffle up and out of the server.
Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace the air baffle before you
turn on the server. Operating the server with the air baffle removed might
damage server components.
5. If you are instructed to return the air baffle, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
