Notes:
a. There is a chamfer at 10 o’clock on the upgrade chip. An arrow on the
chip label points to the chamfer.
b. When inserting the upgrade chip, put its chamfer at 10 o’clock.
c. Note that there are two slots to receive the chip extractor; one at 2 o’clock
and the other at 8 o’clock. The existing chip is marked
ICðð3ð5 EN
and the
upgrade chip is marked
ICðð3ð5 EX

8. To prevent damage from static discharge, touch the metal around the DC
power connector on the 2EN with your hands before extracting or inserting the
chip in its socket (U22). If you walk away from the site, touch the case again.
9. Insert the extraction tool into the two slots at 2 and 8 o’clock. Squeeze the tool
at its center to extract the chip. Keep the old chip until successful operation of
the upgrade chip is verified.
10. Remove the upgrade chip

from its bag. Orient the chip label up
with the chamfer at 10 o’clock. Place the chip on top of the socket. Make sure
all the pins are aligned. Failure to insert the chip in the proper orientation will
crack the socket and cause the Hub to fail. Press down on the chip until it
snaps into the socket.
11. Place the top cover back on the 2EN.
