How to Change the Batteries
General
WARNING
Batteries are heavy and can cause an injury. Use care
to avoid injury. A single trained operator should per-
form the battery exchange, while other personnel
remain clear. DO NOT put hands, arms, feet and or legs
between the battery and solid objects.
Make sure the capacity of the crane and spreader bar is
greater than the weight of the battery. The weight of the
battery is normally shown on the battery case. The
maximum battery weight is shown on the lift truck
Nameplate. The spreader bar must NOT be made of
metal or it must have insulated straps.
The replacement battery must fit the battery area cor-
rectly. Adjust the front spacer plate to prevent battery
movement in the battery compartment. Make sure that
the battery voltage and weight of the replacement bat-
tery is correct as shown on the Nameplate.
Before connecting the battery, make sure the key or
keyless switch is in the OFF position and the parking
brake is set.
CAUTION
Batteries must be discarded or recycled according to
local environmental regulations.
