3. Turn over the rim and tire. Put
blocks under the rim so that the
rim is 8 to 10 cm (3 to 4 in.) above
the floor. Install the flange seat (if
used) and the side flange. Hold
them in the correct position.
4. Put the lock ring in the correct
position on the rim. Add air pres-
sure to the tire as described in
Add Air to the Tires .
Install Wheel in Tire, Two-Piece Wheel
WARNING
Make sure all of the air pressure is removed from the
tire before a wheel is disassembled. Air pressure in the
tires can cause the tire and rim parts to explode caus-
ing serious injury or death.
Keep tire tools in firm contact with the wheel parts. If
the tool slips, it can move with enough force to cause
an injury.
1. Install the inner tube and the
rubber flap in the tire. Install both
halves of the wheel rim in the tire.
Make sure the stem of the inner
tube is aligned with the slot in the
rim.
2. Tighten the nuts that hold the
rim halves together to in a cross
pattern to 95 N•m (70 lbf ft).
Add air pressure to the tire. See
the Nameplate.
