Compaq StorageWorks SSL2000 Series Library Maintenance and Service Guide
The Slave Unit
You can configure the slave unit on the work bench before installation or after it is installed in a
storage cabinet. If you configure it when it is already installed as part of a multi-unit Library system,
be sure to either shut off power to the master unit or disconnect the serial cables. This lets you access
Menu mode directly, thus avoiding communication interference from the master unit.
Each slave unit must have a unique one digit ID that you specify as part of the configuration
procedure. You must stack and number the units as follows:
Master
Slave 0
Slave 1
Slave 2
Slave 3
