Remove the audio/infrared board:
1. Disconnect the audio/infrared board cable (1) from the system board.
2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (2) that secure the audio/infrared board to the
base enclosure.
3. Lift the audio/infrared board (3) straight up to remove it from the base enclosure.
Reverse this procedure to install the audio/infrared board.

Before removing the USB board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 51 ).
5. Remove the following components:
a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 56 )
b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 54 )
c. Switch cover (see Switch cover on page 66 )
d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 68 )
e. Speaker assembly (see Speaker assembly on page 72 )
