LOCATE

Facilitates discovery of the physical location of configured units, storagesets, and
devices by F

LASHING

the device fault LED on the front of the storage device. A

F

LASHING

LED helps to distinguish between located devices and failed devices.

The LOCATE command causes the device fault LED to function as follows:

•

LASH

once per second on a good device. The LED turns O

FF

with the LOCATE

CANCEL command.

•

Illuminate continuously on a failed device. The LED stays O

N

even after being

turned O

FF

with the LOCATE CANCEL command.

NOTE: The LOCATE command can also be used to test the device fault LED.
Not all devices provide a device fault LED; therefore, these devices cannot be identified using
the LOCATE command.
