Changing a Setup Password

To change the Setup Password:

1. Turn on the workstation.

2. When the cursor appears in the upper-right corner of the screen, press

F10.

3. When the key icon (

) appears, type your current password, a slash (/)

or alternate delimiter character, your new password, another slash (/) or
alternate delimiter character, and your new password again as shown:

current password/new password/new password

NOTE

: Refer to the “National Keyboard Delimiter Characters” section in this

chapter for information about the alternate delimiter characters.

NOTE

: Type carefully; for security reasons, the characters you type do not

appear on the screen.

Completing this procedure causes the new password to take effect the next time
you turn on the workstation.

NOTE

: The Setup Password may also be changed by using the Computer

Setup utility. Follow the “Establishing a Setup Password” procedure. Locate
the Setup Password option and follow the instructions to change the Setup
Password.
