Installing DIMM Modules
This section provides an overview of DIMM installation. For complete
installation procedures, refer to the documentation included with the option kit.
IMPORTANT:
Prior to installing a DIMM, read the important guidelines in the
previous section.
To install a DIMM:
1. If the workstation is on, turn it off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Disconnect any other external equipment.
3. Unlock and open the front bezel.
4. Remove the following components:

large access panel
❏
security screw
❏
processor cage
5. Place the processor cage on a flat surface and open the cage.
6. If adding DIMMs to the memory expansion board, remove the board and
place it, component side up, on a flat, static-dissipating surface.
7. Open the appropriate DIMM socket latches.
8. Align the key slot on the bottom edge of each DIMM with the tab in the
DIMM socket.
