SteelDisc Packer -
Replacing discs
WARNING
The discs on the roller are bolted together under
preload.
Danger of accident when performing repair work
on the packer!
The packers must only be opened by trained and
instructed personnel using appropriate tools!

Machines with three-point hitching
¾
Hitching the machine to the tractor.
¾
Place suitable underlay under the packer and
lower the machine onto it.
¾
Open the bearing screws (1).
¾
Loosen and remove the scraper beam on
both sides (2).
¾
Disconnect the packer from the remaining
machines so that the discs may loosen freely.
Machines with undercarriage
¾
Lower the packer on a suitable underlay.
¾
Fix the packer frame with suitable supports
or similar against lateral swinging.
¾
Open the bearing screws (1).
¾
Loosen and remove the scraper beam on
both sides (2).
¾
Disconnect the packer from the remaining
machines so that the discs may loosen freely.
Replacing the discs
¾
Relieve the screw joints crosswise (3):
Leave 2 opposite screws in place; uniformly
relieve and unscrew the remaining 6 screws.
Uniformly relieve the 2 remaining screws.
¾
Remove the discs (4) from the packer tube
(5) and replace defective coulter(s).
¾
Tighten the screws uniformly and crosswise
with 200 Nm (3).
¾
Tighten the bearing screws (1).
¾
Connect the packer to the remaining machine
and tighten the screws (1).
¾
Tighten the scraper beam on both sides with
the screws (2).
