Depth setting
Depth setting of the machine is made via the
packer at the rear and via drawbar or upper and
tractor link arm.
The coulter's loosing action differs according to
the soil conditions. As a result, the packer sinks
to different depths.
The intended working depth can therefore not
be clearly set before use in the field.
NOTE
¾
The working depth must be checked before
starting work and, when processing larger
areas, also in between.
¾
In case of difficult soil conditions and erratic
working with extreme swinging movements
the machine may be adjusted slightly lower
at the rear than at the front.
¾
Before increasing the working depth, move
the support wheels far enough up so that they
are not pressed into the ground when lowering
the machine.
Manual depth setting
The working depth is set at the front end of the
push rods with aluminium clips.

The fewer clips are in position (1) the further
does the rod move forward and the packer up-
ward. The working depth increases.
To fix the packer, clips removed from (1) are
placed at position (2).
Ratio
The ratio of the clips to the working depth is
approx.
1:4
.
If the total thickness of the clips placed at (1) is
changed by 1 cm the working depth will change
by approx. 4 cm.
Example:
To increase the working depth by approx. 7 cm
7 cm : 4 = 1.75 cm
clips must be removed from position (1)
(1x blue and 1x red).

Lift the machine.
¾
Remove the clips from (1) according to the
desired working depth.
¾
Lower the machine in the field until the ma -
chine is carried by the packer and the under-
carriage is raised, if applicable.
¾
Place removed clips at position (2).
¾
Correct the working depth as required.
¾
Tractor link arm hitching: Lower the tractor link
arm until the machine is level.
¾
Three-point hitching: Level the machine by the
upper link arm. Switch the control unit (tractor
link arm) to the floating position.
Reducing the working depth
¾
Lower the machine in the field.
¾
Remove the clips from (2) according to the
desired working depth.
¾
Lift the machine.
¾
Place removed clips at position (1).
¾
Correct the working depth as required.
