• REPLACES/REPLACED (REPLS/REPLD)
A part, subassembly, assembly, or unit is replaced
when a new part is considered to have superior qualities. Old parts may be used until stock is
depleted. A replaced item is listed in the FIG-ITEM column as a variant and identified in the NO-
MENCLATURE column as "(REPLD BY XX)". The replacing item is listed in the FIG-ITEM col-
umn as a variant and identified in the NOMENCLATURE column as "(REPLS XX)".
• SUPERSEDES/SUPERSEDED (SUPSDS/SUPSD)
A part, subassembly, assembly, or unit is
superseded when it is not of an alternate or optional nature with the new one. It is due to a de-
sign change and is no longer required at the specific application. Old item stock may not be
used for replacement. A superseded item is listed in the FIG-ITEM column as a variant and
identified in the NOMENCLATURE column as "(SUPSD BY XX)". The superseding item is listed
in the FIG-ITEM column as a variant and identified in the NOMENCLATURE column as
"(SUPSDS XX)".
• DELETED
A deleted part, subassembly, assembly, or unit is one which has been removed from
a specific application, and no replacement is required. The Figure-Item number and part num-
ber of a deleted part are retained in their respective columns. NOMENCLATURE and UNITS
PER ASSY column information is removed and the word DELETED is added to the NOMEN-
CLATURE column.
• ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE SENSITIVE (ESDS) DEVICES
Electronic parts, assemblies,
and equipment that are susceptible to damage from electrostatic discharge. Electrostatic dis-
charge sensitive devices are identified in the NOMENCLATURE column as "(ESDS)".
3. Equipment Designator Index
The Equipment Designator Index contains the reference designators for components shown on
the schematics. Designators are arranged in alphanumerical order along with their corresponding
IPL Figure-Item number(s).
4. Numerical Index
The numerical index is a complete alphanumeric list of all part numbers in the IPL. The Fig-
ure-Item number and quantity used at each location are included.
5. Manufacturers’ Codes, Names, and Addresses
The following list contains the codes, names, and addresses of manufacturers as listed in the De-
fense Logistics Agency Cataloging Handbook H4/H8, Commercial and Government Entity
(CAGE) (formerly FSCM). The CAGE code is the vendor (V) code listed in parentheses in the
NOMENCLATURE column of the parts list.
