(3) Top Level Assembly Illustrated Parts List (IPL)
The locations of individual modules are indicated in the Top Level Assembly IPL.
(4) Test Points (TP)
Various internal voltages and signals are tied to the rear connector of the Transceiver,
and can be accessed and measured in the test panel setup.
(5) Test Interface
Access to a test port interface is provided on the Tester.

While in operation, the equipment functions undergo continuous monitoring. During normal
operation, the results are reported as LRU faults to the maintenance system on board the air-
craft. The monitoring and fault indication system also includes the Antenna Coupler. The
faults are also stored in the internal fault memory of the Transceiver together with further data
such as date, flight numbers, flight leg, and more detailed fault information. All fault occur-
rences of the most recent flights can be displayed and analyzed both on board and in the
Transceiver test setup. To display the Transceiver Fault History on the HF GSE Tester follow
these steps:
(1) Install Transceiver on XCVR Test tray, and ensure that rear connector is fully engaged.
(2) Turn ON power to the HF Tester PC.
(3) Invoke MS-Windows by typing
win
at the DOS prompt.
(4) Click on the HFDR CFDS icon. The CFDS Tester A340 (AB0 0048) is displayed, along
with the Control Panel menu and the other panels.
(5) Select the HFDR MENU option in the CFDS Tester screen.
(6) Power up the LRU by setting the 400Hz POWER switch on the HFDR Breakout Panel to
the UP (ON) position.
(7) The LRU automatically performs a self-test at power up, and the CFDS Tester A340
screen is replaced with a new menu as shown in Fig. 102.
These submenus then become available (Ref. Figs. 102 to 112).
• LAST LEG REPORT
(LRU faults stored during the last flight leg)
• PREVIOUS LEGS REPORT (LRU faults stored during previous flight legs)
• GROUND REPORT
(LRU faults stored during ground tests)
• TROUBLESHOOTING
(Supplementary information on fault message)
• GROUND SCANNING
(Fault message from continuous monitoring on the ground)
• LRU IDENTIFICATION
(States the Part Number, the solftware version, and Serial
Number of Transceiver and Antenna Coupler)
• TEST
(Manual initiation of the power up self-test)
Once the submenu has been called, detailed fault messages previously stored in memory or
faults detected at power up can be obtained by calling further submenus. If more than 1 fault
