General Information

Evaporative Emission Control System ( California Type Only)

This vehicle complies with the California Air Resources Board requirements for control of evaporative emissions .

Fuel vapor from the fuel tank and carburetor is routed into the evaporative emission canister where it is absorbed and stored
while the engine is stopped . When the engine is running and the evaporative emission purge control diaphragm valve is open

fuel vapor in the evaporative emission canister is drawn into the engine through the carburetor. At the same time, the evaporative

emission carburetor air vent control valve is open and air is drawn into the carburetor through the valve .

has been removed or rendered inoperative by any person .

Among those acts presumed to constitute tampering are the acts listed below:

Removal of, or puncturing the muffler, baffles, header pipes or any other component which conducts exhaust gases .

Removal of, or puncturing of any parts of the intake system.

4. Replacing any moving parts of the vehicle, or parts of the exhaust or intake system, with parts other than those specified
