CT Bolt
Some pa rts of this motorcycle are tightened with the CT
bo lts, i . e . Co m b i nati o n T h re a d bo lts w h i c h m a ke t h e
female th reads when they screw i n .
T h e lower half o f t h e C T bolt featu res t h e com bination of
the standard threads and the low th reads.
When the CT bolt is screwed i nto the u nthreaded p i l ot
hole, the bolt makes the female threads i n the pilot hole by
defo rm i n g the wa l l of the hole. Few chips and shavings
a re produced this time, which is different from threading
by a mach ine.
NOTE
•
When the CT bolt is reused, tig hten the bolt with
care not to ru i n the female threads that were made
when the bolt was tightened fi rst time.
•
The standard bolt is appl icable to the female th reads
that were made by means of the plastic deformation
d u ring tightening the CT bolt.
•
The service replacement parts of the parts tightened
with the CT bolts have the th reads.
When the CT bolt replacement is req u i red, use new CT
bolt or Honda gen uine standard bolt (length
£ ).

Do not use the length
