Operating Information - 3624 ProBrix Plus
Operator Manual
ORBISPHERE
• The
ProBrix Plus PC Program
initially displays a
Line off
CO
2
status message
and issues an audible alarm. In addition the 4 display screens in the LINE Window
become white to give a visual indication, and the condition is recorded in the
Event list
.
• All subsequent measurements transmitted to the PC are stored, but are not
included in the statistics data available from the program. The LINE Window
indicates the percentage of time not in a hold condition by the
Run efficiency
display in the Status Panel.
Once the switch is reopened (typically, with the restart of sample flow) the instrument will
start to display the new measurement values. However, these values should not be
considered accurate until after one to four additional measurement cycles have been
performed (15-60 seconds). You can specify the number of additional cycles using the
Hold Recovery
option in the MODIFY OPTIONS, see “Hold Recovery (Instrument
Only)” on page 41.
2.4.3 Warning Messages
During measurement, the ProBrix Plus performs various diagnostic checks, and warns of
abnormal conditions with various messages and outputs as outlined below:
• The instrument flashes a warning message on the LCD between measurement
display updates
• When the LCD displays sample measurement
and
temperature, the bottom line
includes a warning condition as a three-letter code on the right-hand side
• A message appears on the PC screen, is recorded in an Event List and an audible
message is heard (provided the relevant sound alarm box has been checked in
the PC program - see
• The alarm relays respond accordingly
For full listings of all these warning messages and actions required, please refer to the
.
2.5 Shutting Down the System
Since the indicating instrument has a non-volatile memory, important parameters remain
memorized even when the instrument power is off.
During a short shutdown period (such as weekends), the sensors can be left in line, with
the instrument operating and the purge gas supplied. However, if this inactive period is
likely to last for a period of longer than 2 days, then to avoid any damage to the CO
2
sensor, remove it from the line and dry it off before storing.
If the O
2
sensor is likely to remain inactive for an extended period, remove it from the line.
Discard its membrane, dry it off and store it without electrolyte, but with its storage and
protection cap attached.
CAUTION:
Take care to avoid contact with the electrolyte in the sensor. It can irritate skin; so rinse
hands with plenty of tap water during this procedure. Note too that the electrolyte can
permanently stain clothing, so exercise care in handling.
