Horizontal zoom

The features in the TDR display can be spread out or compressed by setting the
horizontal zoom in multiples of 2:



Toggle the [f4] soft-key to

set

Zoom

to

Horizontal.



A dialog box appears with the text “Horizontal Zoom”.



Turn the knob (anti) clockwise to (decrease) increase the horizontal zoom.



Press the key (or any key) to clear the Dialog Box.

NOTE: The amount of horizontal zoom available varies between TDR ranges.

Horizontal zoom is unavailable for the shortest TDR range as the
highest resolution is already displayed. As the TDR range is increased,
the amount of horizontal zoom available also increases.

TIP:

If Zoom is set to Horizontal, pressing the knob or key, is a shortcut
to enable the zoom to be set by turning the knob.

Horizontal offset

The horizontal offset and Horizontal Zoom settings operate together to enable
sections of the displayed waveform to be examined in greater detail over the
whole TDR range:



Toggle the [f5] soft-key to

set

Offset

to

Horizontal.



A dialog box appears with

the text “Horizontal Offset”.



Turn the knob (anti) clockwise to (decrease) increase the horizontal offset

.



Press the key (or any key) to clear the dialog box.

NOTE: The horizontal offset can only be changed when the horizontal zoom is

> 1x, on the maximum range.

TIP:

Moving the Cursor beyond the display limits will automatically pan the
TDR display and adjust the horizontal offset.

Vertical offset

The vertical offset allows the TDR waveform to be moved so that all elements of
the waveform can be observed particularly when the vertical zoom is > 1x:



Toggle the [f5] soft-key to

set

Offset

to

Vertical.



A Dialog box appears with the text “Vertical Offset”.



Turn the knob (anti) clockwise to move the displayed waveform (down) up.



The bar on the vertical axis moves up or down to indicate the portion of the
original waveform that is now visible.



Press the key (or any key) to clear the dialog box.
