Saving measurements
To save a measurement, press the key.
NOTE: Pressing the key while a dialog box or status information is
displayed, will not save the measurement, but clear the display.
To save a short ID (max. 14 characters) with each saved measurement (or Auto-
Test), the
Save ID
configuration must be enabled:
press the key, followed by the [f2] “Meas Settings” soft-key.
To toggle the
Save ID
setting, press the [f1] soft-key.
If the SAVE ID Configuration is set to ON, then before saving the measurement,
the user is prompted to enter a max. of 14 characters to save as an Identifier
string with the measurement. A message box with the text ” Enter ID:” is
displayed. If the Save ID configuration is not set to ON, then the measurement is
immediately saved.
The user enters the string using the multi-tap protocol (similar to SMS on mobile
phones), using the alphanumeric keypad of the LT51. Once the 14 character
limit is reached, further characters are ignored. To erase previous characters,
repeatedly press the key until the desired position is reached. To store the
ID string and save the measurement, press the Key. If you no longer want
to save the measurement, press any menu or soft-key.
The waveform and or text results, on the screen at the time the key is
pressed, are automatically saved to the instrument memory together with the
LT51 time/date stamp. All relevant LT51 configuration information is also
automatically saved with the result.
LT51 measurements are stored as one of two types:
Text
– The 3 terminal pair values measured by the DMM functions of
Voltage, Impedance and RMS & Frequency (one pair at a time), are stored
when the measurement is saved.
Graphical
– All measurements that display a graphical result such as Level
Noise, PSD, NEXT, FEXT, TDR store each value and set-up associated
with the graph when the measurement is saved.
The LT51 stores the measurement results in two circular buffers: one for text
(max. 7), the other for graphical (max. 10) result types. Saving new
measurements will overwrite the oldest stored measurements. Note that results
of the Auto-Tests are automatically stored in these same circular buffers and that
these tests can consist of up to 15 measurements (both text and graphical).
