LT51 Transmitter
The LT51 Line Tester can be configured to simultaneously transmit single or
swept tones and make spectrum / DMM measurements. The transmitter can be
configured in most measurement modes by pressing the key to access
the settings, and its output always appears at the TXa-b terminals when ON. The
following settings configure the LT51 transmitter:
-
output impedance.
-
transmit source.
-
transmit level.
-
transmit frequency.
-
Sweeping.
Output impedance
This is the impedance presented to the load connecting to the TXa-b terminals:
Press the key and then [f1] to toggle
Ztx
between
600
, 75
and
50
.
The current setting for
Ztx
is displayed on the LCD under the battery indication.
NOTE: When the transmitter interface is set to RTX, any change in the output
impedance is reflected back to the input impedance and vice versa.
Transmit source
It is possible to mute the TX output and simultaneously provide a terminated
impedance at the TX terminals by setting the
Source
to
OFF
:
Press the key and then [f3] to toggle
Source
between
OFF, SINE and
G227 TEL (if fitted).
The current setting for
TX source
is displayed on the LCD under the
measurement title in the TXSTATUS area.
When TX Source is set to
G.227TEL
, the Rectangular window function (ResBW
= 19.3125 Hz) is used for the FFT processing of the Received signal on the RTX
terminals.
Transmit level
Set the level of the signal transmitted at the TX terminals. The output level
displayed on the LCD shows the terminated output level for Zload = Ztx:
Press the key and then [f2] to select
Level.
Turn the knob clockwise to increase, or anti-clockwise to reduce, the TX
level.
