Monitoring
Various parametres (e. g.
status
and
diagnosis
information) of the KVM extender can
be queried via a serial data connection.
These parametres are queried with a special protocol. This chapter explains the var-
ious commands as well as the replies of the KVM extender.
»Request ID«
All commands towards a KVM extender are to be sent using a
Request ID
. This is any
unmodified string the KVM extender reproduces in its answer.

Querying new events (GETLOG)
While the KVM extender is in operation, the last 32 events are logged. If the buffer
for new events is occupied, older ones are overwritten with new events.
New events of the KVM extender can be retrieved with the
GETLOG
command.
NOTE:
Communication with the KVM extender is carried out over the
Service

Use the provided service cable and the following connection settings to transmit
data via this interface:
Bits per second:
38.400
Data bits:
8
Stop bits:

NOTE:
Calling up an event deletes this event in the buffer.
