Water Softener

VGX
Order no. 215 188 040-inter Edited by: KONS-pha-rg G:\BA-188040-INTER-VGX.DOC

Observe local installation guidelines and general regulations.
A water withdrawal point downstream of and close to the water
softener has to be provided by others on site in order to be able to
perform the soft water testing.
The system must be preceded by a drinking water filter and if nec-
essary by a pressure reducer (e. g. BOXER
®
KD). Recommended
pressure: 4 bar.
VGX 14 H must be provided with a system separator acc. to DIN
EN 1717
If a filling fitting (e. g. GENO-therm
®
filling device) is located up-
stream of the VGX 14-H, make sure that the pressure reducer in-
tegrated there is set to at least 2 bar.
Use corrosion-resistant material for the soft water pipe (e. g. stain-
less steel, plastic, PE-X). In case of galvanised steel or copper, we
recommend dosing an anti-corrosion agent (refer to accessories
for dosing computer EXADOS
®
)
Note:
In general, the corrosion behaviour of copper pipes, galva-
nised steel pipes and pipes of stainless steel is not influenced by
softening. However, at the beginning of using softened water in
galvanised steel pipes, the water may turn brown, or in copper
pipes, it may become green. Dosing prevents this effect.
Provide a drain connection (minimum DN 50) to discharge the re-
generation water.
The installation room must have a floor drain. If this is not the
case, an appropriate safety device must be installed (see chapter
C, item 5.2).
Warning!
Floor drains that are channeled off to the lifting system do
not function in case of a power failure.
Note:
When the regeneration water is led into a lifting device, it must
be salt water resistant.
1.2 Electrical
installation
A grounded socket is sufficient for the electrical connection. It must
correspond to the specifications in table C-1. It must be located within
1.20 m from the softener at the most!
Attention!
The socket must carry constant voltage (do not couple
with light or heating emergency switch).
