4.1 Battery and Signal Test Procedures
Initiating the Battery and Signal Tests:
1. Press the TEST Button on the top of the Handset until you feel and hear a
“click.” (See Figure 8, pg. 30).
2. Hold the Test Button down for two seconds to initiate the battery and
signal test sequence.
3. After you release the TEST Button, the Handset will initiate the battery
and signal tests.
NOTE: It will take approximately 2 seconds for the tests to begin. DO NOT
press the TEST Button again during the test sequence.
WARNING
SIGNAL STRENGTH SAFETY
Failure to test the signal strength may result in your Handset
not working properly leading to SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH.
To ensure your Handset works properly during an emergency,
ALWAYS take the following safety precautions:
• TEST the signal strength after installation of your

• TEST the signal strength anytime you relocate a Handset or
the Base Unit.
• TEST the signal strength after replacing the batteries.
• TEST the signal strength when you LINK an additional
Handset to the Base Unit.
