3.2   Placing an Emergency Call

To place an emergency call on your 

JUST IN CASE

TM

 911 Emergency Phone, 

follow these instructions:
1.  Press and hold the 911 Activation Button until you feel and hear it “click.”
2.  Continue to press the 911 Activation Button  for two seconds to place the 

phone call to the 911 emergency operator.

3.  After you hear a dial tone indicating the call is in progress, release the 911 

Activation Button.

4.  When the phone call to 911 has been activated and you hear a dial tone 

followed by the three digits (9-1-1) being dialed, the Signal Test LED Light 

will be 

SOLID GREEN

.

5.  BUSY SIGNAL: If you hear a busy signal, release the 911 button and 

repress it.  This will hang up the call.  Try to place another emergency call 

by repeating steps 1-4. 
NOTE:  The 

JUST IN CASE

TM 

 Handset is a speaker phone.  Therefore, once 

you have placed an emergency call, you should NOT put the Handset 

next to, or very close to, your ear or mouth.  

When you Press the 911 Activation Button and the phone call fails: 

1.  The Signal Test LED Light will be 

SOLID RED.

2.  You will not hear a dial tone.

3.  You will hear the audio message “Call failed. Please check connection.”

The phone call may have failed for the following reasons:

1.  The Handset is not within range of the Base Unit.  

2.  The phone line is disconnected from the Base Unit and/or the phone 

jack in the wall.
