Configuration – Chapter 6
6.4.2 (1) Frequency Config
Definition of the six frequencies for which the sum and difference signals are calcu
-
lated. All sub menus may be quit by pressing any key that is not used in the respec
-
tive menu.

6.4.3 (2) Calibration Config
Gain1 / Gain2: Configuration of the gain for the induced voltages. 0 means min
-
imum gain, 255 is maximum gain. The induced voltages depend on the current
in the guide wire and the distance to the guide wire.
Threshold: This value (in mV) regulates the sum voltage threshold. If the sum
voltage exceeds this threshold the track detect signal is generated.

set the gain for the induced voltages in the two coils. 0 is
the minimum gain, 255 is the maximum value. This gain only relates to guide wire
guidance. The induced voltage depends on the current in the guide wire and the dis
-
tance between sensor and guide wire.
As a guiding value the gain should be set so that the sum signal goes up to a maxi
-
mum value of about 300.
NOTICE
Overmodulation of the signal
A too high gain leads to an overmodulation of the signal.
The gain should be chosen so that the sum of all simultaneously occurring
sum and difference voltages is less than 3,3V.
