PROFITEST 204HP/HV Test Cables
Wind the test cables around the reels at the back of the transport
caddy (option) after each use, if the caddy is used. The test
cables may not, under any circumstances, be mechanically
damaged or kinked, because insulating capacity may otherwise
be impaired.
Inspect the test cables and the high-voltage pistols for mechani-
cal damage before placing the high-voltage module into service,
each time it is used.
!
Attention!
Test cables and high-voltage pistols which demonstrate
even minimal damage should be sent immediately to the
Repair and Replacement Parts Department at GMC-I
Service GmbH.
11.5
Repair, Parts Replacement and Instrument Balancing
When the instrument is opened, voltage conducting parts may be
exposed. The instrument must be disconnected from the measur-
ing circuit for repair, replacement of parts or balancing. If repair or
balancing of a live, open instrument is required, this may only be
carried out by trained personnel who are familiar with the dangers
involved.
11.5.1 Cleaning the Transmitter and Receiver Diodes
If the
PROFITEST 204+
basic instrument is operated for a lengthy
period of time without a high-voltage module, the transmitter and
receiver diodes may become dusty. Before mounting a high-
voltage module to the basic instrument, unscrew and remove the
bottom cover (2 Phillips head screws in the middle) and clean the
four diodes with a soft brush. Replace the bottom cover and
retighten the screws.
11.5.2 Replacing Signal Lamp Bulbs,
Disconnecting the High-Voltage Module
In order to replace the signal lamp bulbs, the high-voltage module
must first be disconnected from the basic instrument.
!
Attention!
Before dismantling the basic instrument and the high-
voltage module, both must be disconnected from the
mains and from the measuring circuit.
➭
Close the lid at the basic instrument.
➭
Turn the instrument combination upside down and set it onto a
soft surface, in order to avoid scratching the lid.
➭
Unscrew the four threaded rods with a 4.5 mm screwdriver
(remove two rubber feet first, see chapter 3.1.1).
➭
The high-voltage module can now be lifted away.
➭
Set the high-voltage module onto the floor on its feet.
➭
Loosen the hex nut inside the instrument at the respective
reflector (8 mm width across the flats).
➭
Remove the reflector.
➭
Remove the defective bulb from the bayonet fixture and install
a new bulb: 12 to 15V / 2W with BA9s base, e.g. OSRAM
Miniwatt T10 no. 3453B.
➭
Replace the reflector.
➭
Mount the high-voltage module to the basic instrument as
described in chapter 3.1.1.
