Maintenance
Safety features should be inspected and documented at least once a
year by the repair department at GMC-I Service GmbH to assure flawless
functioning and efficiency.
11.1
Replacing Fuses
!
Attention!
Disconnect the instrument at all poles from the measur-
ing circuit before opening any of the fuse cartridges!
Disconnect the instrument from the mains.
!
Attention!
Use
specified original fuses
only!
Short-circuiting or repairing fuses is prohibited!
The instrument may be damaged if
fuses
with other
current ratings, breaking capacities or triggering
characteristics are used!
11.1.1 Replacing the Mains Fuse
➭
Open the fuse cartridge with a suitable tool (e.g. a
screwdriver).
➭
Replace the blown fuse with a new fuse with the same
characteristic values.
➭
Close the fuse cartridge.
11.1.2 Replacing the Measuring Circuit Fuse in the
Test Probe at the PROFITEST 204+
Danger: High-Voltage!
If non-specified fuses are used in the
measuring circuit
(test probe), operator error may be life endangering
(danger of short-circuiting)!
➭
Remove the cover with the 3 screws from the test probe with a
suitable tool (screwdriver).
➭
Replace the blown fuse with a new fuse with the same
characteristic values (T16/1000).
➭
Reassemble the test probe.
11.2
Housing and Test Probes
No special maintenance is required. Keep outside surfaces clean
and dry
. Use a slightly dampened cloth for cleaning. Avoid the use
of cleansers, abrasives or solvents.
!
Attention!
Condensation
at the high-voltage module, the test cables
and the device under test must be prevented, because
high-voltage might otherwise result in surface leakage
current. Insulated components may also conduct
high-voltage if condensation is present.
11.3
PROFITEST 204+ Measurement Cables
Inspect the measurement cables for mechanical damage at
regular intervals.
