5 Switches / Push-Buttons / Connectors
5.1 On / Off switch („Power“)
= Measure
LEDs and acoustic signal are activated for best possible in-
formation during the measurement.
= Logging / longterm recording
All LEDs and the acoustic signal are deactivated to save bat-
tery lifetime. This is the mode in which the instrument reaches
its highest precision.
= Turn off the device
5.2 Field Selection for 3D Measurement
M
3D
= Magnetic field measurement (3D)
The isotropic point is below the „Y“ of the coordi-
nate system printed on the top of the lid of the
instrument. The dominating axis is in each case
indicated by the corresponding LED next to the
display.
E
3D
= Potential-free („floating“)
E-field measurement (3D)
The field sensor pairs for the X-, Y- und Z-axis (directions correspond to the imprint)
are situated within the meter close to the housing. For a meaningful measurement
the meter has to be set up insulatedly or held with an insulated rod (accessory
PM4s). Also cable or probes must not be connected to it. As a precaution the dis-
play will indicate “Err.” until these items are either removed or the setting is changed
to magnetic field measurement. At a distance of more than 1 m the influence of the
measuring person usually can be neglected.
