Preface
Scope of this Manual
This manual describes how to install, configure and operate both models of the SpectraComm
Ethernet Switch card: the SC-ES 9-Port card or the SC-ES 18-Port card. The information contained
in this manual has been carefully checked and is believed to be entirely reliable. This information
is intended for installers, service technicians and users and assumes a working knowledge in the
design, planning and management of (switched) ethernet networks.

describes terminal, Telnet, and CLI interfaces used to configure and control the SC-ES.

describes the web-based (HTTP) interface and web-based CLI used to configure and control
the SC-ES operation in a SpectraComm shelf.

describes the configuration or use of additional SC-ES features, such as Network Time,
Authentication, Ethernet Security, Port Mirroring, SNMP Traps and the System
Message log.

provides useful information on factory defaults, SC-ES access modes, the command line
