Corrective action Possible cause Error symptom
Contact GE service personnel. Scale does not function
properly. No weight reading.
Use the tare functionality and even the weight
distribution according to the instructions in Sec-
tion 5.3.3 Add and equilibrate culture medium, on
page 138. The weight distribution
on the rocker feet is not
even. Incorrect weight dis-
played.
Place the rocker on a horizontal surface. The rocker is not placed
on a horizontal surface.
Enter correct net weight and press tare. If correct
weight is unknown remove all load (Cellbag biore-
actor etc.) from tray and tare (zero) the scale. The tare was not done
before adding the load
(Cellbag bioreactor
etc.).

Check that the tray is firmly locked in position.
•
Check that no tubing is pulling on the Cellbag
bioreactor during rocking.
•
Check that the movement of the rocker is not
obstructed.
Mechanical obstruc-
tions to the rocker.
Calibrate the scale. See Section 6.1 Calibration, on
page 151. If needed, contactGE service personnel. Scale needs calibration.
Check bioreactor placement. Cellbag bioreactors not
centred on the respec-
tive halves of the tray. Incorrect readings in
dual mode.
Tare the scale before or after filling the Cellbag
bioreactors. See Tare the scale, on page 138. Tare omitted or incor-
rectly performed.
Check that the table is rigid, flat and horizontal. Rocker support unsta-
ble. Weight reading fluctu-
ates or drifts.
