What to Do
“MANUAL” will flash on the steam
LCD display.
The machine will not reach operating
temperature (standby mode), if the
steam lever is in the MANUAL position.
Lower the steam lever to the horizon-
tal OFF position. Steam operation is
ready, when the SELECT dial illumi-
nates.
“Heating” is shown on the LCD dis-
play.
Indicates when the machine is hea-
ting up, or if the temperature drops
during use.
Just wait.
“FILL TANK” is shown on the LCD
display.
The machine will detect a low water
level. The machine will not be able to
make coffee or hot water while the
water tank is empty.
Fill water tank with cold fresh water.

“CLEAN ME!” is shown on the LCD
display.
The machine indicates that 200 extrac-
tions have been carried out since the
last cleaning cycle. The cleaning cycle
cleans the shower screen and back-
flushes the group head.
Run the cleaning cycle. For informati-

“Change Filter” is shown on the LCD
display.
Indicates when the water filter in the
water tank needs to be replaced. The
regularity of this alert is determined
by the selected water hardness setting
(Hrd1-Hrd5).
Change the water filter according to
the instructions in section ›Insert or
Change the Water Filter‹. For informa-
tion on water hardness, see ›Setting
Water Hardness‹.
“Overheat Please wait” is shown on
the LCD display.
Indicates if the grinder is used exces-
sively and needs time to cool. The
auto grind, dose & tamp function
cannot be used during this time and
3 beeps will sound, if you attempt to
activate it.
Just wait.
“Lock Hopper” is shown on the LCD
display.
Indicates if the bean hopper has not
been properly inserted and locked into
position. The auto grind, dose & tamp
function cannot be used and 3 beeps
will sound, if you attempt to activate.

“bUSY” is shown on the LCD display.
The Espresso Machine is still heating.
You cannot program the extraction
functions, while the Espresso Machine
is still heating Just wait.
