SOLVING PROBLEMS
If any problems occur during operation, you will find solutions in this section.
Problem

The Solution
Motor starts but no coffee
powder is coming from the
grind outlet
No coffee beans in bean
hopper.
Fill bean hopper with fresh coffee beans.
Grinder is blocked.
Remove bean hopper. Remove blockage from bean
hopper and grinding burrs. Replace parts and try again.
Coffee bean may have
become stuck in bean hopper.
Remove bean hopper. Remove blockage from bean
hopper and grinding burrs. Replace parts and try again.
Motor starts but operates with
an unusual noise.
Grinder is blocked with foreign
item or chute is blocked.
Remove bean hopper, inspect burrs and remove any
foreign body.
Clean the burrs and grind outlet, see: ›Cleaning the
Burrs‹.
Moisture clogging grinder.
Clean the burrs and grind outlet. Leave burrs dry tho-
roughly before re-assembling. You may use a hair dryer
for blowing air into the burr area to quicken the drying
process, see: ›Cleaning the Burrs‹.
You are unable to mount the
bean hopper on the grinder
correctly.
Coffee beans block the bean
hopper lock.
Remove the coffee beans and try again.
The bean hopper lock is tur-
ned to “LOCK”.
Turn the bean hopper lock to the “UNLOCK” position
and try again.
Portafilter overfills
Tamping fan was removed for
cleaning and not replaced.
Check that the tamping fan is in position and mounted
correctly to the drive shaft. See: ›Cleaning the Burrs‹.
There is a message on the
LCD display.
See section ›Messages‹ for a list of possible messages.
If you cannot solve the problem, contact an authorized
Service Centre.
Grinder is running continu-
ously.
No beans in bean hopper.
Rotate the portafilter to the left to stop the grinder.
Fill bean hopper with beans.
Tamping fan has been remo-
ved.
Check that the tamping fan is in position and mounted
correctly to the drive shaft.
The machine is heating the
boilers, but water does not
flow from the group head
Machine has not reached ope-
rating temperature.
Allow time for the machine to reach operating tempera-
ture. The POWER button will stop flashing when machi-
ne is ready.
The water tank is empty.
Fill water tank. Purge the system. (See ›First Use‹):
The water tank is not fully
inserted and locked.
Push water tank in fully and lock into place.
“FILL TANK” is shown on LCD
display, but water tank is full
The water tank is not correctly
inserted and locked.
Push water tank in fully and lock into place.
